I have just recognized that many who do slalom-skating have no grace whatsoever when performing in front of an audience. Instead of concentrating on a smooth esthetic choreography and well execution they try hard to butcher high level tricks. And I, like many other spectators, wonder who is controlling whom, the skater the skates or the skates the skater?

Don't get me wrong. There is a huge difference between practicing new tricks, and getting better at the technique, and performing a show for an audience and throwing an artless, try hard, trash pace of bad executed high-end tricks. It makes my eyes wince in convulsion when seeing their hunchback body posture, their over bend necks.

Honestly, guys get the basics first. And work on your body posture! For slalom one makes use of the whole body not just the legs. Thank you.

Best example of stunning grace is Xuan Le. One can perceive that he is entirely enjoying himself while performing slalom. It all looks smooth and elegant like a dance with ease. I think he is the role model for this kind of sport.

Aber vielleicht solltest du besser in deutsch schreiben, falls du wirklich was diskutieren möchtest. Not everybody here speaks such a cromulent english as you do. 😉

No need for. Xuan Le is the perfect role model. Besides I am just a beginner. You probably get bored by all the basic tricks. Plus I am in need of a camera.

    Ever heard of google?

Ever heard of „Sozialkompetenz“?

Kah, ever heard of loyal friends? Not? Too bad for you.

Dear Kah, since you are so keen on vivisecting and analysing everything I am pretty certain that you have recorded yourself skating on more than one occasion. For analysis purpose and so on. Perhaps you can show us some of your videos. Even though, as you know, I prefer watching female skaters 'cause I think they have way more esthetic and grace. Of course the exception is Xuan Le. He has plenty of both. Nonetheless I think some people can learn something from you 'cause you seem to be such a perfectionist.

You know, rumors have it that you have got no talent, whatsoever. But I, for instance, never believed in rumors. I like to get to know people myself before I draw a picture. Of course, you do not have to show us any video of yourself if that might mar your reputation in any way. 🙂

kah, don't you think you make it too ease for your ego? Blaming others 'cause you don't know how to use the Internet properly. Seems like you are more than just an eccentric perfectionist. Perhaps you have forgotten the Germans did not invent the Internet. And I am happy about that fact. Besides if you are having issues with foreigners you might be in the wrong place. The Internet is international, after all.

Just because you want someone to do something does not mean the person will do it. You can go and force your lover, in case you have one, to do whatever pleases you, but not me.

I don't want to butt in on the lovely schoolyard fight between the two of you, but, azumi, you don't want to use the word „vivissect“ (its only meaning is to cut up a live animal). You never ever hear that word in conversational english, at least American English. Use „dissect“ for an argument or a problem. 😉

Kah, I see. So you need a verification for your ego to answer someone's questions, especially when they are written in English. I am pleased by that. It makes you a more interesting study. 😀

taotrader, there must be a misunderstanding. We don't fight. It's rather that we do not understand one another. That's the way when a wannabe Alpha (kah) tries to bash a true Alpha. So the reason is not English at all. I mean look at it, I open a thread with a certain topic and instead of an open conversation kah is complaining and whining that I write English instead of his preference, German.

Have you ever read anything by Oscar Wilde? Well, he was very fond of the word, 'vivisecting' which has way more meanings as the limited definition you have made above. 🙂

Alpha?

PS: Es heißt übrigends „validation“, nicht „verification“.

Sure looks like a pissing contest to me.;)

Yes, I know I misspelled vivisect, trying too much to diSSect the argument, and no, it has not more commonly agreed upon meanings (and I certainly didn't create that definition). Just because the great Oscar Wilde may have twisted the meaning of the word for poetic reasons, I very much doubt he would have used vivisect to dissect an argument in a casual conversation. Just imagine the embarrassment when you use vivisect on a native English-speaking forum and everyone goes: WTF, what planet is (s)he from (sorry, I don't know you, so I haven't figured out yet what gender you are).

kah, evidently I am not the only one who has sipped something. 😉

Actually, I meant your ego verifies every data and if the content doesn't fit in the picture of your preference you start whining and complaining.

taotrader, you misunderstand the context in which the term vivisecting has been used. It's not about dissecting an argument. Kah loves to analyse and vivisect everything in order to understand every and each little element of the whole. And in that procedure he is an eccentric perfectionist. He could write books away and confuse the readers. However, sometimes he can annoy people with that. 🙂

Oh and my native English speaking friends do use even better words. Bet you would kink your head, and in order to understand their saying you would have to infer from the whole sentence.

Honestly, I don't have any problems with embarrassment. If you are afraid of doing mistakes you will inevitably do some. But if you believe in yourself nothing can harm you, especially not words. 🙂
